He Came for Me
A Four-Week Advent Devotional
Born from the song, “From Glory to a Stable,” written by Brandon Jordan, this Advent devotional invites you to slow down, breathe a little deeper, and remember the unexpected way Jesus came for us.
Advent has always been a season that calls us to pay attention—
to the God who stepped into our world,
to the King who chose a manger,
to the Savior who gave Himself willingly.
This Advent devotional began with a melody Brandon wrote over a decade ago. What he carried quietly in his heart eventually grew into these four Advent reflections—written and read by both of us—to help you prepare room for Jesus this season.
Each week, you can listen to the reading here on the page—on the podcast or on YouTube—and if you’d like to linger through the week, we created a free Advent devotional guide with invitations to write, pray, declare, and dwell.
It’s our gift to you this Advent.
Week 1 — He Came Near
The God Who Stepped Into My Story
God didn’t remain distant.
He stepped into our dust, our delight, and our need so we would never doubt His nearness.
This week invites you to remember the miracle of a God who draws close.
Week 2 — He Came Low
The King Who Chose the Manger
The God who deserved a throne chose a feeding trough.
His first breath on earth wasn’t taken in a palace but in a place no one would have chosen.
This week helps you see the humility woven through the Advent story.
Week 3 — He Came Willing
The Savior Who Gave Himself for Me
Jesus wasn’t forced.
He wasn’t cornered.
He chose the cross.
This week invites you to reflect on a love that didn’t hesitate… a love that surrendered for your freedom.
Week 4 — He Came To Reign
The Love That Still Holds Me
The story doesn’t end at the manger or the cross.
The One who came near, low, and willing now reigns—and His love is still holding you in every season, every stretch of your story.
